Join us for the official launch of Centred Outdoors Season 8 at Tussey Pond!

The Centred Outdoors Galbraith Gap guided outings on Sunday, June 2nd are held in conjunction with the Family Fishing Picnic, sponsored by Trout Unlimited. Enjoy fun family activities such as fishing, knot tying, and guided hikes in Galbraith Gap.  Free admission, hot dogs, drinks, and activities for all! All fishing equipment and bait provided - no fishing license necessary. Remember to pick up your Centred Outdoors Passport while you're there!

Experience the soothing sights and sounds of Rothrock State Forest as you explore the Galbraith Gap Trail. From tiny wonders like moss and fungi to massive boulders and streams flowing through it all, this trail will showcase the awe-inspiring wild characteristics you can expect to see throughout the nearly 100,000-acre forest.

All hikes on June 2nd (11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.) begin and end at the Tussey Mountain Fishing Pond. 

Parking Information: Parking for this event is in the main Tussey Mountain gravel parking lots (then walk down to the pond). Please do not park next to the pond/pavilion.

Difficulty: Moderate

Hike Distance (miles): 1.25

What To Expect: The foot trail begins a short walk from Tussey Pond and takes you into  the cool, shaded forest. Portions of the trail are rocky or steep.

How To Prepare: Sturdy shoes and a water bottle are recommended. 

VISITING ON YOUR OWN

When visiting Galbraith Gap to explore on your own, you should park at the Galbraith Gap Parking Area on Bear Meadows Road.
