Centred Outdoors Gear Library

Centred Outdoors is collecting donations of gently-used outdoor gear. Hiking poles, child carriers, rain jackets, hats, backpacks, field guides and other items should be clean, and free of major defects. These items will help us provide the best outdoor experiences to our community!

Items may be dropped off at the ClearWater Conservancy office:

2555 North Atherton St., State College PA.

Monday-Thursday 9a-4p

or at Appalachian Outdoors, 131 South Allen Street.

How it Works

What gear will we accept?

We are accepting items that are clean and in good working condition. See our list of items or visit our REI Wishlist for examples! If you're not sure about an item you have, contact us at adventure@clearwaterconservancy.org!

What should I do before donating my gear?

Clean it up! Wash all apparel and soft goods before dropping them off. Dust off hard goods as well. Make sure it works! Small tears and stains can be mended, but if your gear is beyond the point of repair or is unsalvageable, you'll want to go the recycling route instead.

Where and when can I drop off gear?

Drop off your gear to our ClearWater offices Monday-Thursday from 9:00am-4:00pm. We are located at 2555 North Atherton St., State College, PA 16803

Items may also be placed in the donation box at Appalachian Outdoors, 131 South Allen Street.

I don’t have gear to donate, how else can I support?

Thank you! We will also accept financial support to help us maintain and restock gear. If you would like to support this way, please visit the donation page on our ClearWater website and be sure to indicate your donation for the “Gear Library” in the comment tab.

You may also choose to visit our REI Wishlist if you would like to donate specific items to our Centred Outdoors Gear Library.
