About The Event

The, appropriately named, Little Flat Area stands at the northern edge of the Thickhead Mountain Wild Area that encompasses both Bear Meadows and Detweiler Run. A level hike along either the Mid-State Trail or roadway brings guests to the homonymous Little Flat Fire tower, a now defunct observation point constructed in the middle of the 20th century to help spot wildfires in the state forest. A lovely picnic spot the area also boasts a multitude of divergent trails to explore.
