About This Destination

Dry Hollow, often referred to as “Scotia West,” is a 1,271 acre area recently added to Rothrock State Forest and contains several Natural Heritage Areas. Dry Hollow, and its neighbor the Scotia Gamelands, is one of the largest remaining patches of pitch pine-scrub oak barrens habitat in the state and supports 26 species of plants and animals listed as critically-impaired in the state. The conservation of this region is a key focus of ClearWater for its cultural significance, ecological importance, and connectivity to the surrounding forests.
