About This Destination

The James Cleveland Trail begins at Greens Valley Road. Connect with the past via hike up to a monument in honor of James Cleveland, an airmail pilot who passed away in May 1931 in a plane crash on Mount Nittany between Centre Hall and Pleasant Gap. Follow the trail to reach the top where an inscribed pillar and wreckage from the tragic accident memorialize this prominent piece of Centre County history.
