PARKING is at the Circleville Park main entrance at 3225 Circleville Road. Walks will begin from Circleville Park and proceed across the street to the Patton Woods area.
Discover the serene beauty of Patton Woods Natural Recreation Area, a 63-acre expanse in Patton Township that offers a tranquil retreat for nature enthusiasts. This passive parkland is ideal for activities such as hiking, bird watching, and nature study. The area features a trail system that meanders through diverse habitats, providing opportunities for wildlife observation and peaceful reflection. For those interested in exploring further, the trail connects to the adjacent Haugh Family Preserve and the Scotia Barrens, known for its unique pine-oak barrens ecosystem.
Outings will be led by Centred Outdoors guides and joined by Suzy Yetter, ClearWater Conservancy staff Ecologist, who will discuss the species one might find in the Patton Woods and greater Scotia landscape.

How to Prepare:
Sturdy shoes and a filled water bottle (32 oz. or more per adult) are necessary for all outings.
Water filling stations are not available at most locations.
Sun and insect protection recommended
such as sunscreen, insect repellent, long sleeves/pants, or hat.
For self-guided explorations, the trails are open to the public throughout the year.
