Mount Nittany Hike

For self-guided explorations, the trails are open to the public throughout the year. Join an informative guided hike at Mount Nittany on Sunday, May 28th at 11:00 AM. To help ease congestion along the road leading to the trailhead, we ask that you please park in the parking area off West Mount Nittany Road by veering right at the ‘Y’. That entire area is open to parking. Centred Outdoors representatives will be available to point you in the right direction when you get to the area. 

Visitors to one of Centre County's most famous landmarks can climb the mountain to the best view in State College, the Mike Lynch Overlook. Upon reaching the mountain’s peak (approx .75 miles), return to the base of the mountain, or continue along the full trail for more bird's-eye views of the region (approx. 4 miles). Remember to wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water for this adventure. Some may prefer to use hiking poles for this hike as well. If hiking with small children, a child carrier pack may be helpful.
