About the event
Canoe Paddling Guided Tour
Join us for an easy-going, interpretive paddle around Lake Perez! Led by Jason Erdman from PSU Campus Recreation and other PSU staff, this casual outing will explore the lake's natural and cultural history — from past and present land use to the flora and fauna that call the area home.
No experience is necessary. Jason will kick things off with some dryland skills instruction, then reinforce it on the water throughout the tour. This is a relaxed event, so paddlers of all skill levels are welcome.
Choose your craft: canoe, kayak, or SUP. We recommend kayaks for less experienced paddlers. PSU canoes are tandem, and most kayaks are solo (with a few exceptions). Feel free to bring your own canoe, kayak, or SUP if you'd prefer!
All necessary paddling gear is provided and participants are encouraged to wear activewear, or clothes/shoes you don't mind getting wet.
Age restriction: Every minor must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian and share a boat. Due to seating limitations in tandem canoes and kayaks, an adult cannot bring more than one minor to this event.
