Description: Hikers will follow the Star Mill Trail near the lake and loop up through the woods to the Southeast end of Moshannon Lake. Features of the hike include a cranberry bog, a colony of carnivorous plants, many blueberries, and numerous historic foundations. We will be hiking along the water; waterproof boots are recommended and depending on the weather required. Test your mettle in Black Moshannon by climbing to the highest point in the state park. The fitness hikers will take a more vigorous hike up the Ski Slope Trail and bask in views from the old ski slope. We will then worm our way back down towards the beach along the snowmobile trail. Please arrive promptly at 2 pm on Sunday and 5 pm on Wednesday for this longer hike.

Parking: 15 car lot near the trailhead
Accessible: Not recommended
Policy: Dogs must be kept on a leash, and owners must pick up after their dogs.
Gear: Sneakers or boots that handle an unpaved trail with wet spots.

Hike Times: Sunday 8/12: 2, 4; Wednesday 8/15: 5,7
The Fittness Hike will depart 30 minutes after the start of the first hike.
