Description: Get out and explore the trails of Bald Eagle State Park with the park naturalist! Topics of discussion could include birds, trees, wildflowers, park history, and more! Binoculars and field guides will be provided. Participants will be walking about 2 miles so come prepared by bringing a full water bottle and wearing sturdy footwear. Don’t forget to bring any questions you may have for the naturalist regarding Pennsylvania and its natural history! Fitness hikers rejoice! A more meaty trail is on the menu this week. The Hunter Run trails wind back and forth on the hills above Sayers Lake. You’re heartrate and altitude will climb as you work your way from view to view before coming back down to the State Park. Please arrive promptly at 2 pm on Sunday and 5 pm on Wednesday for this longer hike.

Site Open: Dawn to Dusk
Parking: Turn into the main park entrance at Main Park Road off of Route 150. Drive approximately ½ mile then turn left onto Skyline Drive. Parking will be on the left.
Accessible: Not recommended
Policy: Dogs must be kept on a leash, and owners must pick up after their dogs.
Gear: Sneakers or boots. Long pants might be helpful if you are worried about ticks.
Trail: Skyline Trail (1.5 miles long, 120 feet elevation change, 1.5 hour(s) to complete)
Hike Times: Sunday 7/15: 2, 4; Wednesday 7/18: 5,7
The Fitness Hike will depart 30 minutes after the start of the first hike.
