Description: Get out and explore the trails of Bald Eagle State Park with the park naturalist! Topics of discussion could include birds, trees, wildflowers, park history, and more! Binoculars and field guides will be provided. Participants will be walking about 2 miles so come prepared by bringing a full water bottle and wearing sturdy footwear. Don’t forget to bring any questions you may have for the naturalist regarding Pennsylvania and its natural history!
Address: 149 Main Park Road, Howard, PA 16841
Hours: Dawn to Dusk
Parking: Turn into the main park entrance at Main Park Road off of Route 150. Drive approximately ½ mile then turn left onto Skyline Drive. Parking will be on the left.
Accessible: Not recommended
Policy: Dogs must be kept on a leash, and owners must pick up after their dogs.
Gear: Sneakers or boots. Long pants might be helpful if you are worried about ticks.
Trail: Butterfly Trail (1.5 miles long, 120 feet elevation change, 1.5 hour(s) to complete)
